The Uptones in conjunction with Fun Fun Fun Media are trying something revolutionary. Fun Fun Fun has come up with an “offsite digital backup solution” as sweet as The Uptones music.
They have combined the two and are calling it “The Sweet Deal.”
Here’s why it’s so sweet and the Uptones endorse it:
Cloverdale, California, the 2nd coolest small town in America, is hosting the next Uptones show on August 27. The music starts at 7 p.m. when Cloverdale’s outdoor summer concert series, Friday Night Live, continues its 8th year in the Plaza. The show is FREE. Here’s directions, come early and you’ll find one of the best farmers markets in Sonoma.
The Uptones’s horns and Big D join HaSkaLa on the Warped Tour’s Kevin Says Stage for a rousing version of “Party At Ground Zero.” The 6 hours of Ska at the Warped Tour was amazing fun. Thanks to Tazy and SkaParade for making it happen.
As part of the Warped Tour promotion, there’s a really cool ten song download for free at iTunes. Check it out. If you already don’t have Skanking Fool, download it now.
“Laws and Sausage,” the most recent MP3 post on The Uptones website, has taken on even more meaning. The song has become a soundtrack for a new video by Lisa McElroy. You’ve got to check it out. It brings this image-laden song to life. This video transcends politics. It comments on the lunacy of our fragile human condition. Plus the images are so memorable. We salute Lisa! Here’s her page, let her know what you think.
The Uptones have been recording again.
“Laws and Sausage” is a whimsical take on the famous quote about how similar the processes of lawmaking and sausage making seem to be. Check out the lyrics.
Stay tuned, more to follow.
If you missed it, here’s a photo our newest member from the Red Devil Lounge show last Friday. Thanks to whoever took the photo. What a GR8 first show!
